The challenge

How do you make an upstream energy company feel human, without losing the technical authority investors and partners expect?

Sunlink Energies is an indigenous Nigerian energy company with a significant stake in OML 144, a shallow-water block about 50km offshore in the Niger Delta, and a growing role in the country’s gas future, including a Final Investment Decision on the HI Project alongside SNEPCo and a 20-year gas supply agreement with NLNG.

Its digital presence needed to carry that weight. But the company’s vision is simply "We enrich lives," and its culture is built on values like "Keep learning." The website had to serve investors, partners, regulators, host communities and future talent at once, translating complex asset information into something clear, credible and unmistakably Sunlink.

Our approach

We started with people. The homepage leads with the faces of Sunlink’s workforce, each slide pairing a core value with the conviction behind it, so the brand’s character is felt before a single statistic is read.

For the technical story, we made complexity navigable. OML 144 is presented through an annotated concession map and an expandable facts panel covering location, acreage, sector basin and participating interest. A hand-drawn illustration language, paired with Sunlink’s green and orange palette, carried the brand from the offshore platform to its journey, leadership and sustainability pages.

Sustainability was given its own voice: a "SEEDS" framework, CSR stories from scholarships to school libraries, and news on milestones such as the HI Project FID, all structured so the content team could keep the site current.

The result

A corporate platform that balances operational authority with genuine warmth. Stakeholders can understand Sunlink’s assets, track its milestones and see its community impact in one coherent experience, and the company now has a digital home that reflects both what it does and why it matters.
